Rio is the last of the friendly Oregon owned and operated Facilities based telephone companies spanning Oregon and SW Washington. We take great pride in Rio’s “best in class” delivery, support and customer service.
We are a Technology driven Telephone Company that provides Next Generation business voice and data services. We are not just a provider of circuits; we are a provider of complete solutions to our customers ever evolving and competitive needs.
Rio Networks was founded in April 1994 as an adjunct online bulletin board service providing customer support for a sister company. Beginning in January of 1995, Rio began to offer basic modem dial-up Internet access for personal and business accounts. The same year, Rio became an independently operated company, shifting the focus of its business to providing wide area networking service (WAN) and expansion of its Internet products. Consolidation of the Internet expansion positioned Rio as a high quality Internet access provider.
In June of 1998, Rio secured status as a CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) and received approval as a long distance carrier. These approvals set the stage for a full market push focused on providing bundled communications services to businesses in the metropolitan and rural areas of Oregon.
Rio Communications is wholly owned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. Our Corporate headquarters in based in beautiful Roseburg Oregon. Customer service, technical support, order entry, provisioning, technicians, engineers, programmers, management, and other key staff reside here. Remote engineering, field support and sales staff is located in Bend, Medford, Grants Pass, Eugene, Springfield, Salem, and Portland.
Rio enhanced its key Management and changed its name to RIO Networks in September of 2007 to better reflect the company’s vision.
Today we deploy our services on Oregon’s newest network, 2012 will bring a new host of business “Cloud” based service for that will change the industry as we currently know it. Further we will be opening our new 5000 Sq.ft. High Density Collocation facility that will serve customers across the globe. Great things are happening at Rio networks.
